Nikola Tesla (1856 – 1943) is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. The Serbian-American inventor,electrical and mechanical engineer once told a reporter that he sometimes felt that by not marrying, he had made too great a sacrifice to his work. Tesla chose to never pursue or engage in any known relationships, instead finding all the stimulation he needed in his work.
