Circus Roncalli began entertaining crowds using animal images on 18th May 1976 in Germany. André Heller and Bernhard Paul founded the circus. The duo’s innovation came amid concerns from an animal activist on the deplorable conditions animals go through during the live performance. Countries like the United Kingdom have passed legislation prohibiting the use of wild animals in circus performance by 2020.
